Dating online today, how many people do you think are using the internet to find love?

“Are you ready for this?” There are around 4 million people dating online yearly, ranging around 20,000 adding their profile each day! You might ask yourself, “How can I stand out with these stats?”

I have shared in my relationship seminars this simple three step technique to achieve success while looking for Mr./Ms. Right.

Dating Online Technique:

• Photo Power

• Be Specific, do not be vague

• Be Real

Do you remember the sayings, “A picture can paint a thousand words”? Or, “Make your first impression count. It may be your only one”? In any case your picture should be your introduction of who you are.

Let us look at an example. If you put a racy picture of yourself, what kind of impression are you giving? Do not get me wrong, if this is what you are looking for, that is your choice. Word of advice, be sure not to be contradictory with what you write in your profile and what your picture illustrates about you!

Be specific, not vague. Here is a classic example. People will often write things such as, “I am kind and caring.” Potential dates, looking at your profile, will be interpreting their definition of kind and caring, which perhaps that is not necessarily yours.

What happens if “Mr. Right” (not in this case, lol) interprets this as you will do all his cooking and cleaning. When in fact you consider yourself kind and caring because you are a volunteer at the animal shelter twice a month. Do you see what I mean? I know the example is extreme but there are people out there just like that.

Finally, be real. If sports are not your thing, do not pretend they are so you can date a jock! Believe it or not many people have fallen into that trap later to find themselves bored and not happy in their relationship. It is important to share the hobbies and activities you enjoy too. Remember with dating online you are trying to meet the person you want to spend your life with.

In closing, keep this in mind, the time you take searching will reflect the person you will meet. There is no need to rush. Mr./Ms. Right is waiting for you, you just need to look. Are you ready now to start dating online?

I am going to share with you on how to put your profile on steroids, to make you irresistible to the opposite sex and it is not going to be really that hard to do! “Are you ready to dive in?”

First you have to understand what a girls biggest fear when talking to guys online…While the internet has made it easier for females to date online, it has increased in difficulty for males, go figure! They fear… the “CREEP”. You know the guys I am talking about. The ones that are just weird looking.

They look like they do not have any friends. They look like they have not been laid in forever. The ones that just look like complete and total STALKERS.“And you wonder why online dating for them is so difficult?”

Pickup 101 Reveals Facebook/MySpace Profile MISTAKES

- You call that a picture?

- Why would you put Single?

- You did graduate high school, right?

If you do not have a digital camera, find someone with one and have them take some fun action pictures of you. Then get them edited, but also have a copy re-edited down to 250 pixels for your profile photo! If you only have one picture, no one will believe it is you…yet a photo album will show you are real! Our pickup 101 cannot stress how important this is, otherwise you will be left out of the picture entirely.

You might be single, but as our friend Derek agrees…do not put your status down as such. This may be counter-intuitive, but by putting yourself as single, you make the remark that you “are trying”. See what I mean? Plus it eliminates the mystery. You want to make the girl wonder… “Is he single or not?”

There is power in the profile, so make sure you go back the next day to check your grammar and spelling. Have a close female friend of yours go back and spice it up a little. You think that really hot chick is going to want to reply to you if your profile is riddled with spelling errors? SHOW that you are intelligent.

WARNING: Putting together a chick magnet profile, means having to keep all your replies straight without getting mixed up in who you are chatting with or emailing, so be careful!

If you think this is too much work for Facebook, then maybe there is a reason why you cannot find the right person? Quick Trick of mine that is a gold nugget of wisdom, so listen closely my friend! Go to the profile of the female you are interested in and check out the profiles of the guys she is communicating with. Make sure you pull the good stuff from their profiles that pertains to you. Your profile is the foundation for successful dating online, this is your personal reference online for other females that are checking you out. Have several fun exciting pictures taken and posted of yourself with excellent resolution. Pathetic bad exposures on your images will send her clicking to the next profile.

Before messaging anyone, was your profile finished? Fill out your whole profile out while chatting with your best friend, so it sounds real and not like some job interview! If it is still incomplete, get back there now and get it done once you finish reading this article.

The second thing you need to do is READ HER PROFILE. Too many guys fail to personalize the first message, which is critical. There are too many cut and paste messages out there. An attractive girl gets as many as fifty messages a day! Do you think she is honestly going to have time to read all of them? Absolutely not.

You need something that catches their attention…the easiest way to do this is to personalize your message! Find something you both share a passion for and make the first line in your message a question on this topic. More on this later…

Attraction needs to be more than skin deep. I have personally met extremely beautiful women on several occasions with the perfect body and could not wait to get to know them better. Dating Help Starts With Writing Down The Following on a Piece of Paper:

• What do you do for a living?

• What was the last book you read?

• What was your most embarrassing moment?

• What physical activity do you enjoy regularly (tennis, golf, working out, etc.)

• What is your favorite singer, do you have their music and why?

• What type of movie do you like and why?

• Where do you want to go on vacation next and why?

Now have one of your friends for some dating help,  such as helping  you answer the questions. Be sure to take the time to make the answers interesting. Let look at an example….

What do you do for a living? “Well I work on a road crew, putting in roads and highways. My occupation is very rewarding, because I can always look back and see what my effort has created. It is a testament of my attention to detail and quality, while maintaining a safe environment around my area. With over 300 fatalities annually in my occupation that is nothing to sneeze at or you want to overlook. My crew prides itself on our safety record and it produces some really great friendships out of fellow workers. So what do you do?”

Just be careful to keep it interesting and not to talk for an excessive length of time. Do not be a blow heart!

WARNING: Finding new exciting activities and interesting, fulfilling hobbies that you enjoy… might mean you are going to have to schedule time weekly to pursue it.

Become an island temporarily and learn what you like and dislike. In other words become a leader and not a follower. I know you would rather make your life an adventure, yes? I find it amazing the words the great Greek Philosopher Socrates said, “Know Thyself!” It is time to try activities that look fun and impressive, to see if you want to claim them as your own. Follow these recommendations and We know you will rock in appearing more attractive to the opposite sex the next time in conversation with someone new, from this dating help!

Has dating help ever prevented you a lot of headaches? This definitely will.

I once saw the funniest, yet powerful advertisement on the subway. It really did have impact on me, because I never forgot it. It was a picture of a grubby guy chatting online pretending to be this drop dead gorgeous woman. Scary but true, this happens more then we care to believe.

Want dating help tips to ensure you are not about to meet a freak or psycho?

• Find out as much information about the person you are chatting with

• REALLY listen to them

• Invest in a webcam!

First, find out as much information about the person you are chatting with. This seems very basic however if they are pretending to be someone they are not, they will eventually get confused. Listen to their story, does it stay the same? Does it change the more you chat? Does it match the profile they submitted? If they seem vague or are not quick to share information, beware!

Second, REALLY listen to them. I know this sounds silly but they will send clues of their intent. Make mental notes as to the type of questions they are asking you. A good friend of mine shared one of her online experiences. She once chatted with some guy who said in his profile, that he was looking for a long term relationship, however everything he talked about was of a sexual nature, A long term relationship was not his intent.

Finally, invest in a web cam. This is a great way to really see the person you are chatting with. I know that sharing photos is generally part of online dating however there is no guarantee the pics are really them. Furthermore, if you share your pics and you do not really know this person, you take that risk of them posting them on the internet, or altering them. Again not foolproof, but web cams allow you to see each other live while chatting. This same friend of mine said she found her online dating experiences were far more real and she felt she knew who she was chatting with.

You really have to have not only the desire to long distance dating but have the ability and flexibility to do so. We were not just in different cities or states/provinces, we were in different countries! Keep in mind there are real expenses involved as well.

Take travel for instance, whether it be gas or airfare, what and how often will your budget allow? Does your job/profession allow you the flexibility to travel? We were blessed, we both have professions that had that flexibility and salaries that allowed us to travel back and forth every two weeks. These are just some of the basic realities that need to be considered when deciding if this is for you.

Trust is a MUST!!!! This is a biggie….if you are not comfortable spending a weekend here and there by yourself, then you may wish to reconsider this type of dating. If you are going to put your life on hold by worrying about what your companion is doing when you are apart then this truly is not the way for you.

You truly have to be able to live your life both together and apart with ease. If you need to know their every move, you do not have the trust needed to make this type of dating work. Both Robert and I had (and still have) that level of trust between each other. We also had no problem with each other doing there own thing when apart. We dated for two years and saw each other every other weekend and during holidays.

Long distance dating is not for everyone and only you know if it could work for you. Keep in mind the tips shared and whatever you dating style is make it HAPPY and MEMORABLE!!!!
